The vet on call was fantastic, she made me feel at ease and communicated with me every step of the way.

The aim of our equine division is first and foremost to provide a friendly, informal, but professional, quality and expert service to horse owners in the North Wales, Cheshire and Wirral area. The treatment of horses is managed by Andy Peffers, assisted by Alice Makemson, Hannah Smith and Eliza Grout.

Our team has a broad range of equine veterinary experience and we are able to carry out a wide range of procedures including; pre purchase examinations, full lameness work ups, ultrasound guided pregnancy diagnosis, artificial insemination and dental procedures including extractions.

Whilst we aim to combine the best possible service with all the latest treatments, diagnostics (digital x-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy), and equipment (including state of the art dental equipment) we want to preserve the ethos of a sensible, practical approach to veterinary medicine.

We have stabling facilities for hospitalisation of patients if required and stocks for safe and effective restraint for minor procedures and operations.

When things go wrong there is 24 hour emergency cover and we have excellent working relationships with local referral centres should they be required.

In addition we have our own dedicated equine nursing team; Emily and Josie, who are happy to answer any questions you might have. We can also assist in constructing personalised worming regimes and offer a faecal egg count service. Please ring for further information.
